Applicants for this position should first have a positive attitude and find joy in working with children.
Applicants must have a Professional Utah Elementary teaching license. All employees must pass an
educator background check.
Job Description and Function:
The successful applicant will be expected first to be a quality role model for young people. The successful
applicant will be responsible for all of the teaching duties outlined in district policy #1138. The successful
applicant will be responsible for teaching online students enrolled in Utah Peak Academy. This position is
expected to be mostly online with monthly training days and team meetings in person at the Piute County
School District office. The portion of time permitted to be worked online may be modified by
administration. The successful applicant will also complete other job duties as assigned by administration.
Compensation:
This position is being announced as a part-time employee working up to 28 hours per week. The position could be
assigned to full time status based on student enrollment in the Utah Peak Academy school. A 20 hour employee that
doesn’t already have leave and retirement benefits would qualify for these benefits. Current compensation may not
change for an employee being reassigned from other duties. A level one certified teaching assignment starts at
$39.73 per hour. Based on enrollment if the position becomes full time this position includes a standard family health
insurance package with 100% of the premium paid by the school district, Utah Retirement Systems benefits, and 10
annual days of paid leave as explained in district policy #2047.
