Oscarson Elementary Strategic Plan 2018-2019

Mission Statement:

Faculty, staff, parents, and community of Oscarson Elementary are committed to student engaged learning in a posititve environment, enabling them to reach their full potential with dignity. We strive to effectively teach students to communicate, interact cooperatively, solve problelms and function in a changing socitey.

Goal 1: Strengthen Teachers

  • Improve Teaching Strategies by participating in PLC, Professional Learning Communities, and PD Incentive Plan
  • Growth from Teacher evaluations
  • Understand and implement Utah Effective Teaching Standards through District and School Professional Development
  • Improve instruction through effective use of data with Dibels, SAGE, RISE, Utah Compose, Anecdotal records

Goals 2: Student growth in Utah Core Standards

  • Teachers will imlement and become proficient with use and instruction of "Really Great Reading" and "Reading Wonders" written to the Utah Core Standards for reading and writing
  • I-Ready to teach math concepts aligned with state standards
  • Imagine Learning used by K-2 students to strengthen literacy skills
  • Student use of SAGE Benchmark Testing throughout the school year
  • Data Driven Decision Making using Dibels, SAGE, RISE, Utah Compose, Anecdotal records

Goals 3: Technology

  • Technology endorsed teacher
  • Need Ipads upgraded and maintain electronic devices
  • Use technology to improve core subjects, math, and reading
  • 3-D Printer and design

Safe Schools

  • Upgrade restooms to ADA approved, build faculty restroom
  • Install more electrial outlest in K, 1-2 classrooms, repair kitchen roof
  • New cabinets in classrooms
  • Maintain and improve facilities and playground, procedures for safe schools
  • Positive School Climate created by Liberty Kids, counseling for students, and parental involement
