4002 - Equal Educational Opportunity


It is the policy of the Piute Board of Education to provide equal educational opportunity regardless of sex, marital or parental status, race, color, creed, age, or national origin. Equal opportunity includes employment, admissions, course offerings, extra curricular programs including sports, counseling and testing. The Piute School District is also committed to equal opportunities for the physically or mentally handicapped.
Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color, or national origin. Title IX of the Educational Amendments of 1972 is similar in its prohibition of discrimination on the basis of sex in any education program or activity receiving federal financial assistance by way of grant, contract, or loan.

Piute School District will offer a quality educational program which provided all students, within the limits of their ability, the necessary skills, attitudes, etc., to function effectively in our society. This education shall be provided consistent with the United States and Utah State constitutions and laws, as well as the policies and regulations of the Piute District Board of Education.
